booting from backpack cdrom

Hi- I'm looking for a boot floppy that will load drivers necessary to boot a cd from a parport cdrom drive. Anyone know where I can get such an animal? Thanks for any ideas, hints, tips whatsoever.

Unless you can do that from the BIOS of the machine, you're going to have to load a kernel to see the cdrom. If you use the the pportide.i boot disk, maybe... as it boots you'll see what ide device the pport drive gets, which will most likely mean you are aiming it as root = /dev/hde1, one practice boot should get it.
