Bootable CD


Ok I came across this problem.. Can anyone tell me why I can boot from a Windows bootable cd and not any *nix distro bootable cd?

Your *nix bootable CDs aren't burned properly? Are corrupted?
You didn't include any usable information, error messages, or
anything.

I will post the given. Yes they are burned correctly and the *nix bootable cd's boot on any other given machine accept my Thinkpad 600...

I installed Fedora before even considering installing w2k. After reformating the partion and installing w2k just to verify that my pcmcia card was working fine, which it is, i tried to boot with the same *nix cd I used before even erased it and burned it again and burned a second *nix cd. They all work fine on other machines but this thinkpad... yet any given copy of windows cd's will boot with no problems and these windows cd's are burned slipstreamed versions.
