boot hangs when hotplugging starts

My computer hangs in the boot process, as soon as it wants to start the unplugging service (level 3). All attempts to boot with the boot CD failed. I get into the Yast2 program and there it asks to install different drivers (USBCORE, Usb uhci, Iomega ppa, USB STORAGE etc.) but that doesn’t help, after the reboot, it will hang at the same level. Since I’m a Linux newbie I don’t have any idea how to get into the booting nor how to change something there. I would be very glad to receive detailed help (step by step). The hotplugging problem I have already a longer time. My Compaq USB keyboard was not active after the hotplugging check (before the check however it worked). I had to unplug and plug in several times the USB Keyboard until it recognized it and I could enter as user. Thanks for the help!

René
