Boot hangs after "md: ...autorun Done"

I reinstalled Gentoo using 'genkernel'.

Now when it boots, this is the last few thing's it says:

md: Autodetecting RAID arrays
md: autorun ...
md: ... autorun DONE

- - - Here it hangs. It will just sit here until I ctrl-alt-del to reboot it. Then it says:

md: Stopping all md devices
md0 switching to read-only mode

That's it, it just rebooots and does the same thing. Is there same way to stop it from hanging?

BTW, I do have a raid controller on the MoBo but I don't use it. The LiveCD didn't have this problem either.

Thx.

Bump, and update.

I read that it's (like I thought) a RAID setup program. So I tried to pass 'noataraid' to the kernel. It didn't change a thing. Is there a certin way to pass it in grub?

edit- Yea. It is a RAID problem. I think it's trying to mount a no-existent drive due to the on board raid.

All I need to know is how to disable MD RAID AUTODETECT, that's it. Does anyone know?

Firstly, according to Gentoo Linux Documentation -- Choosing the Right Installation Medium, the boot option is:

Quote:
- noraid disables loading of evms modules
That might only be for the LiveCD, but worth a try, especially if you're using one of the LiveCD kernels.

You might also consider recompiling the kernel without support for the RAID controller (it can't try to autodetect a RAID installation if the modules to initialize the chip itself aren't loaded, after all).

Hope this helps.
