blurry lcd screen

hi,

recently my lcd monitor (NEC MultiSync 17") started having two columns of blurry "regions." anyone know why this happens? I get the same effect in windows too.

Sounds very bad!
The problem might be that your screen is not correctly setup. Maybe your installation did not detect the model or the specs correctly. Make sure you got correct horisontal and vertical frequencies right. If not, your LCD will soon physically birn down, and release some blue smoke...

yes it used to work perfectly fine..and i'm sure my frequencies are correct too..i just can't figure out why all of a sudden i started having these blurry "columns"..any ideas??

Try hooking it up to another computer (running a diff OS preferrably) and see if it still has the blurs. Try to use the same outlet, though, as sometimes outlets can have too much plugged into them and screws up LCD screens like that. This way you can tell if it's the actual hardware or the config.
