Question bluetooth refuses to pair with mobile phones for obex transfer (fc6)

i have been trying for a long time (since i got bluetooth dongle) to send files over obex to my samsung z140V it requires pairing but pairing constantly fails no matter what is use to pair this. gnome-bluetooth-applet does appear to get the furthest however. it requests confirmation of my pin on phone but takes a long time to pair almost as if it gives up and pairs anyway. any form of sending files fails without any sign of prompts to accept files or the like. I cannot seem to reverse pair using my computer to perform the inital pair request either. using the hci_usb kmod

cant think of any additional information to include so request and it shall be provided!
many thanks,
netsurf
