Bluetooth mouse and keyboard mapping at start, but limited functions

Hi,

I got a new Dell laptop at work and it came with a Dell bluetooth mouse and keyboard. (I'm pretty sure they're made by logitech, but they say dell.)

Anyway, my Fedora 10 installation seems to work with them pretty well. If I leave everything in HID mode they work just fine on boot up, but the functions other than the basic buttons don't work. My mouse's scroll wheel won't work, nor will the forward and back buttons. Also the volume control on my keyboard doesn't work. I've run xev to see if I can capture the button events, but it doesn't look like they're being sent to xorg.

Has anyone else run into this problem? I've found some stuff on google, but nothing has worked so far.

You might try changing your drivers to "evdev". The standard keyboard and mouse drivers don't always support all the fancy newer buttons and stuff. But evdev was designed for multimedia mice and keyboards.
