Blank screen when starting X after installing kyro powervr graphics driver

Hi All

Im new to all this so bear with me.

Im trying to install the correct driver for my PowerVR Kyro Based graphics card. I have run the rpm (rpm - Uvh powervr-2.00.20-516.rh90.athlon.rpm) i downloaded from imagination technologies and i have modified the xfree86config file in the way the readme file lays out but im having no joy. After modifying this file i try and restart the GUI (X) and my monitor just flicks to a blank screen and i can no longer do anything but restart and change the config file using redhat-config-xfree86

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Im running

Athlon XP 2400
512 DDR
32Mb Hercules Prophet Graphic Card

Have a look at the file /var/log/XFree86.0.log. The lines are labelled according to the type of information they contain. Are there any errors or warnings in there?

The contents of the XFree86.0.log were created using the new XFree86config file employed after restart. Hence the following are the contentes of the XFree86.o.log.old

XFree86 Version 4.3.0 (Red Hat Linux 9 release: 4.3.0-2.90.43)
Release Date: 15 August 2003

Before reporting any problems, please make sure you are using the most
recent XFree86 packages available from Red Hat by checking for updates
at http://rhn.redhat.com/errata or by using the Red Hat Network up2date
tool. If you still encounter problems, please file bug reports in the
XFree86.org bugzilla at http://bugs.xfree86.org and/or Red Hat
bugzilla at http://bugzilla.redhat.com

Are you sure you installed the right driver package to match your current kernel?

Searching on 'kyro' in this forum brings up quite a few people having problems with this driver. If you are sure you have the right driver package I think that would be the best place to look.

If you put 'kyro' or 'powervr' in the thread title I think you might have more luck finding someone with specific expertise.
