What do you mean about a modified BIOS? Is this the motherboard as you received it, or did you do something to it? What's the error that it gives when it fails? What have you tried to do so far?

When asking questions, please be proactive and give as much relevant info as you can up front.

The mobo is new and not modified.
I noticed the term "modified BIOS in some google search results.
There is no error shown The load will simply stop, hung-up.

Thanks for responding
Jim

Sounds like a hardware problem, then. If you can't find anything in Google to suggest that other people are having trouble making this board work with Linux, and you can't get it to boot regardless of what OS you're using, you should consider that possibility. Does it fail when you are trying to boot an install CD, or only once you've installed and are trying to boot your new system?

?

Does it POST, and how far does the starting sequence progress before everything stops? Does it start to boot? Which live-cds have you tried?

Which BIOS does it have, the one dated 2009-06-03 that is required for the Phenom II CPU?

Things started working when I set BIOS to optimized defaults.

Thank you
