Bios flashing of a brick?

Can physically change the bios memory on the fly (when the computer is running) so I can load a new bios? I guess the best would be to use puppy thet totaly runs in ram. '

I have not a brick yet but it would be intressting to know before I get one. I have 5 boards of the same type.

The usual method is to put in a good bios chip, pull it out after boot, install the bricked bios chip (machine still running), and then update(or reflash) the bios. It is quite risky.

Yes, it is possible to physically change the BIOS chip while the computer is on and running, and that is one way to restore a bricked BIOS. Just be sure you have either another chip standing by or a way to restore the memory of the chip.

I would have the bios file and flash disk from the manufacturer handy as well, just in case. Since you have 5 boards all the same it should be okay. Just be careful.

Do a little more research too. Google something like "BIOS flash failed" and see what suggestions other people give.

Good luck on not bricking your system.
