best sound card

Hi, I am going to rebuild my computerand I was wondering what is the best sound card for debian unstable. I also want to be able to play games (through cedega) and music on a surround sound system.

CMI cards are well supported with Alsa and dmix, but you can also look into the kernel modules that are available too check what is supported.

if you want a sterophile's sound card, get the chaintech av-710. They're cheap too.
