best mobo bang for the buck...?
 

I'm about to ditch some mobos and I'm looking for replacements. Any tips on mobos out there that run good and solid under linux? I run AMD platform. The only on board goody I really care about is LAN. I would like to stay in the less than a $100 range since I'm after more than one BUT I would like to play with one of the Nforce 2 boards if they are worth it.

Bro - check out http://www.newegg.com I've built my rig entirely from components I've bought from them, and not only do they have killer prices but their delivery rocks. What's especially cool is that customers can file a review of whatever product they purchase on the website, and so you can get a super clear view from other people who've bought the same thing what its positives and negatives are. I suspect that you can find some killer info on their site about whatever mobos you are interested in. All I can say, again, is that I built my entire rig from stuff I bought from them, and saved major cash. I ordered on a Tues night, by Thurs morning, I had the merch in hand. I agree J.W.. I bought most of mine from there. Mobo, drive, CPU, Memory, and Video card. Came in a day early. Actually two days early, I went to the Fed Ex hub and picked them up. :D

i use asus a7n266 with nforce2 chipset.its just superb(with windows and linux).just go for a newer kernel(i think none of the distros suppy the kernel with nforce chipset support).not that you cant work with nforce+linux without a kernel upgrade,but if you want to enjoy the power and speed of nforce,you will have to upgrade it.this mobo ships gforce 2 mx also with them
