best all-around graphics card?

i'm going to get a new one soon.
im kinda partial to nvidia, had better luck in past w/ them tahn w/ ati.

i want some suggestions.
what card do you like, and/or suggest.

price
compatibility (linux drivers)
performance
and just why you like it

i've had good luck with my Geforce2mx400. cheap, compatable, works well.
