#define RTVID4 0x050d <<=== this should be located at almost the very end of the file
#define RTPID4 0x705a <<=== this should be located at almost the very end of the file

{USB_DEVICE(RTVID4,RTPID4)},\<<= this should be located at almost the very end of the file

Can i put that anywhere at the end of the file or does it have to be in a specific spot ?

Tengo un Belkin wireless usb, con Debian (2.6.16-2-686). He seguido cuidadosamente, linea a línea, los pasos que hace asalford en su HOWTO y he conseguido, tal como se indica, instalar el módulo. Funciona perfectamente.

update

ok, so i got it to show up in iwconfig(rausb0), but is has this:
rausb0 RT73 WLAN
Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:113
Rx invalid nwid:0 invalid crypt:0 invalid misc:0

now, i am new to wireless networking in linux, but i thought there was supposed to at least be a null string for essid in that listing.
also, when i try 'ifconfig rausb0 inet up' i get no output, as if it worked, but shows the same stats in i(w/f)config and says its still down if i try to set the essid or anything else.
i am using the driver downloaded yesterday, and the kernel was installed 2 days ago(2.6.17-gentoo-r8)

anyone had experience with this sort of thing?

I got the driver compiled using Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper, but I cannot seem to be able to connect to any wireless point. I don't know if the configuration should be done through the rt73sta.dat file or using the wireless configuration. It seems that using the terminal to make rausb0 work freezes the system. Any suggestions?
