Belkin f5d7050 wireless usb nic gone wrong...

I have a post over at fedora forum.org But to sum up, COmpaq Evo N1020v laptop with a f5d7050 v4 belkin wireless usb nic. Tried to install ndis wrapper, failed several times. The latest issue being receiving several errors upon trying to install the ndiswrapper 1.48 package from the packagemanager. Any advice?

1.48 is very old please uninstall it and up grade to 1.52. then you must modprobe ndswrapper. then you will have to reinstall the windows drivers again do not ask me how yum does this I do it from a terminal but I belive yum has these options. up grade that ndswrapper i just did that for my card but the new kernel should run the belkin usb device with out ndiswrapper at least thats what kernel or is saying. when I upgraded my kernel I had to upgrade the /lib/firmware stuff to. the module in linux looks for the firmware library. good luck

oh yeah you have to have the windows drivers for ndiswrapper to find them ndiswrapper looks for the /etc/ndiswrapper file you can put the windows drivers there to find it. or you can leave them on the disk and let the ndiswrapper program that yum links to look on the cdrom then create the /etc/ndiswrapper/ your driver. good luck. if your system is configured to use ndiswrapper what you need to do is go in to yum and tell it not to use the ndiswrapper. make sure your computers CMOS (bios) setup is set to non windows or none plug n play O/S. that way linux can read your bios and try to load your devices according to bios. good luck.

Actually, I got it working by uninstalling the kernel, while booted, then reinstalling the kernel. Rebooted and unplugged and plugged back in the adapter. Pretty much rocked..... Thanks for the HELP!!!!!!
