bcmwl5 issue
Well I seem to be having a issue with my wireless card. I currently am working with Damn Small Linux and am trying to get my Dell 1390 Wlan mini card to work. I got the windows driver and used ndiswrapper as follows:
ndiswrapper -l (to check for other drivers and there were none) ndiswrapper -i bcwml5.inf (installed ok) modprobe ndiswrapper ndiswrapper -l driver installed hardware present Now after all this wlan0 does not show up in iwconfig it only show lo & etho. I checked dmesg and it says something like, can not load driver is not 32bit; bad magic: 020b. I know the driver is 32 bit, i think the dell pacakage I got from there site has both 32 and 64 bit, I do not know if that is causing a problem or not. Any have any ideas why I get the 32 bit message and wlan0 does not show up as a interface? I am pretty new to Linux so bare with me |
I found a site saying that in kernels 2.6.x and above it comes with a linux driver for my card. I guess seeing that damn small linux is only 2.4.x maybe I should just pick another distro.
