bash: cd: /mnt/floppy/: Input/output error
I have a problem with my floppy drive. When I attempt to mount it with:
mount /mnt/floppy
It does not return an error message or anything and the drive access light does not come on either.
When I try to access the floppy with
cd /mnt/floppy
I get the following error:
bash: cd: /mnt/floppy/: Input/output error
This time the access light does come on.
My /etc/fstab is as follows:
/dev/hde1 / ext3 defaults 1 1
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0620 0 0
/dev/hde6 /home ext3 defaults 1 2
none /mnt/cdrom supermount dev=/dev/hdc,fs=auto,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850 0 0
none /mnt/cdrom2 supermount dev=/dev/scd0,fs=auto,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850 0 0
none /mnt/floppy supermount dev=/dev/fd0,fs=auto 0 0
/dev/sda1 /mnt/memory_card auto user,iocharset=iso8859-1,kudzu,codepage=850,noauto,exec 0 0
/dev/sdb1 /mnt/memory_card2 auto user,iocharset=iso8859-1,kudzu,codepage=850,noauto,exec 0 0
none /mnt/zip supermount dev=/dev/sdb4,fs=auto,--,iocharset=iso8859-1,sync,codepage=850 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hde5 swap swap defaults 0 0
I think that this is a supermount problem (Running MDK 9.1)
If I try to remove the supermount option on the floppy entry and then access the floppy or mount it I get the following error:
mount: you must specify the filesystem type
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
