Bad sector in HardDisk
 
Could any one please advice how I could find the bad sectors in my Hard Disk. The Hard disk is getting corrupted in between. I installed a tool S.M.A.R.T. Could anyone please advice how I could use the same to find the Bad sectors.

Has anyone used Hard Disk Sentinel..
When I run it am always getting the following result :

HDD Device 0: /dev/sda

Temperature : Unknown °C
Highest Temp.: Unknown °C
Health : Unknown %

Could anyone please advice.

Oh, when you post to your own thread we think it has been worked on. Just edit the original post instead maybe.

Smart tools are OK but I prefer getting the OEM diags from the company that made the drive. If not just get ultimage boot cd and use generic diags. The OEM have some more advanced tests and very long test to help diag the drive.

My guess, it looks like smart has not been enabled.
