average FPS radeon 9200

could someone give me their best 'educated' guess on what an average FPS should be for a radeon 9200...

i just installed the fglrx-3.5 from ati.com ...it works and all but i think the FPS should be faster <?>

i get on average 250 <~1260 in 5 seconds> is that normal , or it should be faster... quite frankly i got that *without* the drivers installed (just using vesa drivers) , seems the only thing i gained was a higher resolution (which is still good ...)

overall i think my problem is getting the DRI enabled in X. i originally had DRI compiled into the kernel <with no drivers selected in .config> ...but glxinfo says no direct rendering. this time (following someone elses post on a radeon 9800), i took out dri all together and rebuilt the kernel and fglrx drivers and was using the ::

option "no_dri" "yes"

in my XF86Config ...and still same frame rate and no direct rendering.

i don't know what else to do , if someone could verify that my FPS should be hella faster or anyone has any ideas on what to do about DRI with this card...i'm all ears ;)

thanks,

sorry for all the words,

there should not be that much difference

well,...

we're getting there...it's not quite 3000 tho'

finally got dri goin.. i was on the right path by taking out of the kernel (...at least it works now <?>) now i got a whoppin ~1772fps {hey, it's better than 250 }

it should be enough for NWN , so until i *need* to see 3000fps i'll make do with what i got (unless of course someone can give me a sure way to get that 3k)
