Average CPU utilization for 3 months
 
Hi Guys ,

I want to know the average CPU utilization(load AVG)of a server for last 3 three months.I tried with top command.Is there any parameter that we can use to get the avg load for last 3 months.Is the any inbuild tool that can help me get this.

Hi,

Actually we cannot install any third party application on it,because it is a production system.Is there any log that we can pull it out?.

if you have SNMP installed on the production system you can use MRTG to monitor it remotely..

or any other number of tools that utilize SNMP for gathering data.

Short answer, *NO*. If you didn't collect the data, it doesn't exist.
If that server is RHEL (or Centos - maybe) you'll hopefully have sysstat active. Has all the historical data you should need.
Try the manpages.
