automounting pen drives

hi dears ,.

i got "RedHat WS 3" with kernel version 2.4.x,in kernel version 2.6.x my pen drives and usb storage devices are always automounted but in 2.4.x i mean in RedHat WS 3 i have to mount it manually all the times and when i mount the pen drive after processing the eject command its access LED still keep on glowing means it is not unmounted properly,so is there any solution by which i can enable my WS 3 running computer to automount the usb storage devices,..

thanks in advance ...

There are various scripts that have been written for just this purpose, just google for them. This might be a starting point: http://users.tkk.fi/~tkarvine/automa...ng-autofs.html
