Automatic X Server Configuration

Hello!

I want my X Server to configure automatically at startup. It's a live cd and I want the X server to configure itself for the graphic card.
Now I removed the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf, but then I can only use the american keyboard layout by default. I'm a german and I haven't got an american keyboard.
The live cd is based on Slackware 12.1, that's the distribution I use.

Best Regards
Christian

Save your required config to some place in any disk as abc.conf
after live cd boot
# mount -t .....disk
# startx --help

Hmm, but how will find it the file abc.conf, I think it can't find it, when I put it anywhere.

Best Regards

suppose abc.conf is in /dev/sda1
# mkdir /efg
# mount -t ext3 /dev/sda1 /efg
# cd /efg (optional)

# xorg --config abc.conf
(this is common for most distros )

with startx it is different and cumbersome

Best
