Automatic Error Recovery Precedures

Hi all,

As known, many SATAII disks support ERP(Error Recovery Precedures), my question is, does the harddisk self support ERP directly without any extra setting, even in Linux or Windows?

I've googled for a few days... found no accurate answer.

Thanks in advanced.

Sounds like a sales gimmick. All hard drives will produce errors. It is up to you setup Error Recovery Procedures which are basically backups.

Thanks for your reply. I have another question about this issue: could we send a signal or command from Linux to disable/enable this ERP function? How to do?
