"Automatic detection of the sound card did not work.", this one is a little different

Okay, I just installed FC3 with the GNOME GUI today, and everything has been going (relatively) smoothly, except for my sound card. The computer detected it correctly, and has the correct driver installed. Upon the first bootup, when the computer played the test sound, the sound card worked fine. Then, a few hours later, I put a CD into the computer to listen to some music. Nothing happened. I test the sound card again, and no sound. I've ran lspci and lsmod, and they both list the sound card, and the sound card driver, respectively. Any ideas on what to do next, or what might have caused the sound card to stop working?

Anyone? Oh, and the kernel is 2.6.11. If no one has a solution, could someone send me to something where I could start troubleshooting the problem?
