Auto generate /etc/fstab


I am wondering if there is a utility that can automatically generate a basic /etc/fstab file. I often have need of this and I know that liveboot CD's do this all the time. Can anyone tell me how I can do that?

Linux generates a mount table = /etc/mtab from /proc/mounts
