This is a bit of a dual question...

Firstly, I want an unattended kickstart install of Centos 5. I've got everything working fine but the problem is my machine has 2 NICs and before the install process gets under way, I always have to specify which NIC i would like to use for the install process. Is there a way to automate this process or ignore one of the NICs until the install process is over - short of physically d/cing it!?

Secondly, the auto-detect process always chooses the PCI network card as eth0 and the intergrated NIC as eth1. Is there a way to swap this over? I know I can do it after the install process but i was hoping for a way to change the auto detect process so that the intergrated NIC was always eth0.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Have you tried posting a forum question on www.centos.org ?

I searched the centos site but didn't come across anything that looked particularly helpful.

I've experienced a similar problem with multiple NICs the only way I found was to correct the assignments manually after the installation was complete.

I'm curious.
Is this a problem because you are intending to remote installs, multiple unattended installs, or virtual installs ?

No, I've not tried posting there. I'll have a look later today.

I worked out the answer to my first question... you just need to specify 'ksdevice=ethX' as a boot option.

The second one I guess is a little more tricky.

I'm planning on doing both remote installs and multiple unattendeds.

The remote install may be a little tricky as the machine i want to Kickstart will be NATed. I'm going to have to configure the router it is behind with a dhcp-relay address to my central DHCP server for the tftpboot. I'm not sure how this is going to go.... :S
