I use Slackware 9.0 and I have some problems with my soundcard, Aureal A3D Vortex 1.

I use KDE, and arts always remind me that it can not load /dev/dsp.

I've downloaded the newest module I could find for my soundcard, and when I try to load the module it says that the module I'm trying to load is created to be compiled with gcc 2, and my kernel with gcc 3, and therefor it can not load the module. There are also a few errors in the install process...

Can anyone help me!? I'm not really that experienced with Linux, I just started two weeks ago.

them i found http://jayasolutions.0catch.com/03gnulinux.html and dl'ed the 1.1.3.1 and everything seems ok, even listening mp3 and playing quake3 at the same time
