aureal vortex 2 with suse 8.1

i compiled and installed the aureal drivers according to

http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/chofman_vortex.html

but when i

nothing happens, so i try

and i get the following error message.

and the module dosent load. please help this is rather urgent. i have gotten the aureal drivers to work on many other distros including redhat 8.0, gentoo, and mandrake 8.1. thanks in advance
