Hi, I've just installed Gnomemeeting so I can mic with my Windows friend.
I also installed the ALSA and OSS plugins for Gnomemeeting.
Here's the problem, I go through the "Configuration Druid" on Gnomemeeting and when it comes to the sound bit, I have to choose which plugin I want to use.
Here's my plugin options:
OSS
ALSA
Quicknet
I checked all three on the next screen, which shows if it's detected the devices and ALSA and Quicknet both say "No Device Found", whereas OSS says /dev/dsp" for audio output and audio input.
So, I chose OSS as it seems logical to use the plugin that actually shows something. So now I press "Test Settings" and all I hear is a loud buzzing sound and I can't hear myself talk.
I applied these settings thinking maybe they were temporary, but when I connected to my friend's pc, all we could both hear is the buzzing sound, which must have originated from my machine as we both used it without problems when I was with Windows.
As requested in the topic "readme" I've pasted some information from /sbin/lspci:

And my kernal information: Redhat linux 9 2.4.20-8
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I'm sorry I can't be of more use but this is only my second day on Linux.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the Redhat soundcard tool correctly finds my soundcard, and I DO hear the test sounds.
Many Thanks,
Nick
