If anyone else happens on this post for the Blade 15, I'm tracking my progress on fixes here: https://abarry.org/ubuntu-on-razer-b...2022-advanced/

I've gone to a 5.17 kernel and am able to get decent performance out of s2idle with that and some nvidia fixes (options nvidia NVreg_EnableS0ixPowerManagement=1 NVreg_S0ixPowerManagementVideoMemoryThreshold=10000)

Similar issues with RB 14

I'm having similar problems with the RB 14 from 2022. It has an AMD ryzen processor instead of the intel one, and a similar microphone array (doesn't seem to be digital though?). Kubuntu 22.04 seems to make everything work out of the box (except for the internal mic and plug-in mic, and the wifi card which just needs a newer kernel or an updated board-2.bin file).

Since I can't find any hints that the RB 14 mic array is digital I am working under the assumption that is analog and thus different, and will make a new question for it.

I want to note that I needed to do no other settings for the NVIDIA card etc. to get prime to work. Running programs on the iGPU (amd) makes power draw be about 7W, running with prime-run makes power draw about 24W. And I've confirmed that the card is indeed being used (e.g. glxgears -info vs prime-run glxgears -info shows appropriate card being used).

Suspend under s2idle draws a pretty regular 0.42 Wh/hour, i.e. 0.6% of battery, which is acceptable. I tried setting some ACPI-related kernel params to reduce it by blocking wakeups etc., but it ended up breaking a bunch of things so I just left the default setting. Note that I have never tried to suspend the laptop while running any software using the NVIDIA card (or right after having done so). So, I guess I have not really suspended the laptop while it was in a "really hot" state. I will try that next.

I have the mic working now. See my blog linked above or copied here:

Microphone

By default the built-in microphone does not work. Thanks to ewfuentes we now have a solution!
Backup your sof topology file:
Code:
sudo cp /lib/firmware/intel/sof-tplg/sof-hda-generic-2ch.tplg ~/
Download this sof topology file
Extract it
Copy it over the existing one (note the filename in the zip is not the same as the target file)
Code:
sudo cp sof-hda-generic-2ch-pdm1.tplg /lib/firmware/intel/sof-tplg/sof-hda-generic-2ch.tplg
Reboot
Code:
sudo reboot
I also succeeded at NVIDIA Prime, it sounds like you have as well. Details here: https://abarry.org/prime-render-offl...d-rtx-3070-ti/

Ah, so there are some significant differences between the 14-inch and 15-inch:

1) the 14inch uses an AMD ryzen 6000 processor (and I guess some AMD sound card stuff? See my alsa info: http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=896e5a...9469da52d782bc) whereas the 15inch uses that 12-gen intel processor.
-> This means that the 5.15 kernel already works fine for s2idle sleep, 5.17+ kernels are needed for intel 12th gen processors with their E-cores which apparently before 5.17 were not handled well -- I found that on a different laptop I bought at the same time (ASUS zenbook 14 OLED).

2) The sound card seems to not be digital on the 14-inch (at least I don't see it using SOF stuff?). At any rate the topology you published did not work for me. Any suggestions (cf. my alsa-info above) would be helpful. I have tried up to 5.19.5 kernel and that did not help anything (directly).

for me, without swapping pins I need to know the true pin for left and right ....but I am using a desktop speaker system so I can just swap physical speakers if sound test for left channel is playing thru right etc
That would be MY 'take' on the matter, too. Physically swap speakers round; me, I always take the course of least resistance (along with a bit of 'lateral thinking').

I appreciate that this isn't of course possible with a laptop with built-in speakers!
