Audio Hotkeys No Longer Work and Audio is Fuzzy - Fedora 10
 

I haven't had many issues with Audio. Following some steps posted here I remedied some audio issues I had at first. However, as of about 1 hour ago, my volume up and down hotkeys (FN+key) no longer adjust the volume. The little volume meter appears on the screen like it's trying to, but nothing happens, the Mute function does this also, it puts the little red X on the volume, but it doesn't actually mute it. Opening the program myself and doing it though works. Also while Rhythmbox is playing a song, if I try to drag a window around my desktop, it's like I put my hand on a record, the music slows down until I stop moving the window around. WTF Over?

K, after reading a little bit I uninstalled Pulseaudio, and now my audio sounds great. Multiple apps can stream at once and they don't kill the sound server, I can drag windows around and my music doesn't wind down, but my volume up and volume down hotkeys still don't change the volume. I tried remapping them in the "Keyboard shortcuts" window, but still no dice, suggestions?

Fixed the issue, the problem was that at some point I guess I slipped while messing with my audio settings. There's an option at the bottom of your "System>Preferences>Hardware>Sound" menu that lets you select what your volume keys control. Mine was no longer set to "Volume" but to "Digital-1". After setting it back to "Volume" the hotkeys work. And after uninstalling Pulseaudio, all of my sound issues have gone away. Hope this thread will help other people who may have the same problem.
