As far as i know with the latest version of the kernel it does not have a processor speific option. but its x86 compatible cause most machines sold have windows media edition intalled. Thus its x86 compatilbe and thus YES its compatible with the kernel. Just the processor specific options will not be there. AKA throttleing or other unknnown stuffs.

Linux x86 works fine on my Turion ML-34 (CPU throttling works)
Linux x86_64 was working too (but only half hour, until I find out there is no w32codecs for 64bit - so I installed back the x86 version)

Tets :-)

In a word, "Yes!!"

I use Mandriva 2006.0 x86 64 on a Compaq Presario v2413us with Turion ML-30. It has the ATI chipset, which works flawlessly.

However, there are some issues with 64 bit - mainly device drivers and browser plug-ins.

I dual boot to Linux and Windows XP Pro 32 and XP 64 as well as run VMWare to virtualize Windows XP 64, which you cannot do with 32 bit processor. I also run Windows XP Pro 32 bit and virtualize 32 bit Ubuntu.

Hope that helps.
