"attempt to access beyond end of device" problem....

I have a serious problem with my DVD drive...

When i try to open files from a DVD or CD (no matter what type: tryed CD-R CD-RW ORIGINAL_CD DVD-R NORMAL_DVD)) i always get io errors...

When i do a dmesg: i get this:

ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 3
ISOFS: changing to secondary root
attempt to access beyond end of device
16:00: rw=0, want=572080, limit=1024
attempt to access beyond end of device
16:00: rw=0, want=572082, limit=1024
attempt to access beyond end of device
16:00: rw=0, want=572084, limit=1024

Now i am sure the DVD/CD was bigger then just 1024.......

Does anyone know what i can do about this?

I run kernel 2.4.27: i also tryed 2.6.8.1
I have my root on NFS: i use a PXE bootserver etc etc...
The drive in question is MAG-innovision 16X 48X DVD driver.

(Everything used to work....)
