ATI X600 64 Bit Gnome OpenSuse Graphics Settings Help

I recently installed OpenSuse on my machine. It's not the latest version but it's within a month update. I had to install a driver for my graphics card. I followed a step by step guide and everything worked out ok at first, but when I enabled 3D settings, I noticed my screen would black out at random intervals. I fiddled with the graphic card settings in the options for a while and managed to mostly solve the problem. (I have no idea what the graphics settings mean, so it was a trail/test/error process.) Now the screen is fine unless I run multiple programs at once, or play a game in fullscreen mode. My questions are... What option is causing the problem, and what do I change to fix it? And, if you guys can't answer that, then what do the settings in the graphic card settings mean?
Example...
videooverlay
opengloverlay
stereo
etc.

Specs I know of...

OS- OpenSuse
Gnome
64 Bit environment
3d is enabled
Processor- Athlon 64
Card- ATI Radeon X600 (RV370) SB62 (PCIE)
Moniter- WDE LTV-19W3
