I dont have any 3D accelerarion on my pc. I am using Radeon 9550 and suse 9.3. I tried to install driver with ATI Driver Installer and still no 3D acceleration.
You have a choice of two routes: downloading ATI's proprietary drivers, or using the open-source drivers. To use the open source drivers you will need to recompile the kernel, making sure you include the ATI/Radeon module for DRI, and you will need to compile mesa and X.org to enable 3D acceleration for the Radeon chipset. If you use the search feature (the top of this page) you will find many threads linking to various howtos on other sites, and even complete instructions posted on this site already.
