I had an ATI RageII+ in my athlon950 machine. I replaced it with an ATI Rage Magnum. I read all the troubles people have had getting 3d drm to work with ATI Cards. Now I don't konw about the radeons. But with my Rage Magnum I have 3d acceleration running great. And it was easy....with Mandrake 10. All it took was running Xfdrake, choosing my correct card and clicking yes when it asked if I wanted 3d acceleration.

Granted this is with Xfree 4.3 and the 2.6kernel with Mandy 10. But anyone who is trying to setup an ati rage128 card might want to look at Mandrake 10. I used to be a Debian evangelist and now I'm back in Mandrake's camp. Sorry gotta hit the soap box on this one cause I think it's really going to give Windows a run for the money now. It setup flawless and I then loaded Tuxracer and it plays excellent. I'm not sure of my actual frame rate but it has no lag or jumpy graphics. Absolutely flawless. I'm gonna check my framerate now. I'll be back with the results.

I just ran glxgears. I'm getting 423 to 461 fps. I think that's really good. From a 16meg agp Rage Magnum.
