ATI Rage 128 Pro, DRI segfaults at higher resolutions
Hi,
I've noticed that on my ATI Rage 128 Pro (AGP) card, when I run it at resolutions at or above 1280x1024 (I think), things that use DRI will segfault, such as glxgears, and other things that use 3D. Even glxinfo will segfault at these resolutions. At lower resolutions everything seems to work fine. Is there any reason why this should happen? Some type of driver problem maybe? I have another ATI Rage 128 Pro card (nearly, some of the chips are different brands) identical to it, and I havn't tried that one yet, so I think I'll stick that one in here and see if the same thing happens to make sure it's not a hardware problem, but I don't see why it should be. Has anyone else had problems like this?
Thanks,
Marshall
-- Edit
I tried my other card, same thing happens. I'm guessing it's some kind of driver problem. I'm using the xf86-video-r128 driver, version 6.8.0. I'm gonna try another version and see if the problems persist. I've also noticed that certain things don't look quite right on screen at any resolution, such as there being "artifacts", mostly where the windows are rendered along the edges of them will be little white lines in the boarders, but if i move another window on top of it, then move it back, they go away. I've had the cards for forever and used them on linux plenty of times before but have lately been using my intel card. But I know the Rages didn't used to do this.
