Ati Radeon X700 Pro Advantage won't work
I installed Fedora Core 5 without any problems (only I saw only 75% of the setup but that doesn't matter). The system boots good and everything goes fine. I have my LAN working in a few minutes and everything goes well. After that I decided to install my Ati Radeon X700 Pro Advantage card. (the resulotion was kinda low and I couldn't get it higher). So I downloaded only the installation package from ati. After the installation, the installer asks me to run aticonfig. Here comes the first problem: I can't find ANY aticonfig file. (running the path in the console won't work either -_-'). Furthermore I tried:
- install X.org (file from Ati) - install Xfree86 (file from Ati) - install Xpat (Expat is an XML 1.0 parser written in C) X.org and Xfree86 and 2 components from the Linux update needed this component) - install ALL the updates from PUP Doing this together won't give me an proper aticonfig file either -_-'. Can somebody please help me? I'm new in this stuff but I definitly wan't to continue with it. |
aticonfig should be in your /usr/X11R6/bin folder. if it isn't there, search for it by typing:
find / -name aticonfig Remember to start it, by either changing to the folder the script is located and typing ./aticonfig --initial or typing the whole path like /usr/X11R6/bin/aticonfig --initial since it isn't in your searchpaths. |
REsults: 0, but I'm gonna try the 'livna' drivers first... But thanks :)
