ATI Radeon HD5450 series Card

Hi All,

I'm having difficulty with the open source driver for the above card. For some reason I'm only able to select a resolution of 1024x768 - and my max supported resolution of my Monitor is 1080p.

Had a Google around and found that the Propriety driver isn't supported in this version of Ubuntu and therefore Mint.

Is there anything I can try to unlock higher resolutions - or is it simply that I cannot use the latest version of Mint/Ubuntu on my hardware?

the HD 5450 (CEDAR) is fully supported in 16.04+.

There should be no reason why you can't get full resolution. I would look for clues in /var/log/Xorg.0.log and dmesg. Maybe:
