ATI Drivers & Safeguarding
If i install fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.2.0.i586.rpm in Redhat 9 for my Radeon 9000 and end up with a non-functional gui for redhat yet again (had massive pbms with RH8 & previous ATI drivers) how can i revert to previous configuration/setup? If i do a rpm -e package.rpm is that going to be enough after a reboot to have everything swinging back to normal? I wouldn't dream of touching this package with a 20 foot rj45 had they not made the claim tvout was fixed which is what i want working sooooo bad. Any advice? Is there a way to backup what i have running and configured currently then restore it if trouble arises? I've found a couple of walkthroughs by users i plan on using already but feel free to post a link for a definitive installation of the above mentioned package. I'd rather ask all these questions beforhand then after an unsucessful installation.
