ati drivers and mandrake 9.1..help
I need some info on getting my ati 9500 pro working 100% with mandrake 9.1
I have seen posts on this topic but nothing seems to help. I have gone as far as ./make.sh and ./make_install.sh everything seems to work. I get MESA GL listed when I fglxinf. I should be getting ATI or FireGL instead. I seem to have VESA entries when I type dmesg. The card was running under vesa mode prior to installing the xfree4.3 drivers. Is this a problem? Can it be removed? Also I see that the agpgart apeture is not defined when I get a dmesg list. Please help. It is a good learning experience for me, I know so little and have come about 1/2 way in this effort. |
i don't how it works with ATI cards
but with nvidia cards you have to edit the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file and change the approprate line so Linux is pointed to the right driver |
