ATI Driver module won't load under 2.6.*

When attempting to install the rpm, it goes through the steps, then fails to load the kernel module stating 'operation not permitted'. It does the same thing when i attempt to install the module i made under /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod.

-I am using the latest version of the driver
-I am root
-I have attempted this in run level 3

I attempted to find a solution for this through google, and although i was unable to find a solution I did find that perhaps a patch was required for 2.6.* which i am using.

The exact error is:

==============================
- creating symlink
- recreating module dependency list
- trying a sample load of the kernel module
FATAL: Error inserting fglrx (/lib/modules/2.6.6/kernel/drivers/char/drm/fglrx.ko): Operation not permitted
failed.
Installed: qt3 (gcc 3.2) based control panel application
===
ATI display drivers successfully installed
please run 'fglrxconfig' now

Also at the bottom of dmesg i get:

fglrx: module license 'Proprietary. (C) 2002 - ATI Technologies, Starnberg, GERMANY' taints kernel.
[fglrx] Maximum main memory to use for locked dma buffers: 431 MBytes.
[fglrx:firegl_stub_register] *ERROR* Fire GL kernel module has to be loaded prior to any other DRM kernel module!
fglrx: module license 'Proprietary. (C) 2002 - ATI Technologies, Starnberg, GERMANY' taints kernel.
[fglrx] Maximum main memory to use for locked dma buffers: 431 MBytes.
[fglrx:firegl_stub_register] *ERROR* Fire GL kernel module has to be loaded prior to any other DRM kernel module!

yet when i run fglrxinfo i get

Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.4 Mesa 5.0.2)

Re: ATI Driver module won't load under 2.6.*

Use lsmod to look for qt3, and drm modules.
Remove them with rmmod, or (in case that failes) reboot.

Does your kernel support drm ?

i solved the problem recompiling my kernel (2.6.6) without AGP and DRM support. Then it worked! :-)
