ATI 9500, fglrx-glc22-4.1.0, fglrx-glc22-4.2.0, fglrx-glc22-4.3.0




okay, i have 3 drivers,
fglrx-glc22-4.1.0-3.2.5.i586.rpm
fglrx-glc22-4.2.0-3.2.5.i586.rpm
fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-3.2.5.i586.rpm
all of them didnt work,
Check.sh..? cannot run...

i did this :
# rpm -ivh fglrx-glc22-4.1.0-3.2.5.i586.rpm
# fglrxconifg... bla..bla..bla..
# reboot
i use graphical login, it cannot run to the startx.

and i did this :
# rpm -e fglrx-glc22-4.1.0-3.2.5.i586.rpm
# rpm -ivh --force fglrx-glc22-4.1.0-3.2.5.i586.rpm
# fglrxconifg... bla..bla..bla..
# reboot
it still cannot run to the startx.

and then i try another driver, fglrx-glc22-4.2.0,
same the same what happening... cannot run to startx

then, fglrx-glc22-4.3.0,
everything seems normal, and i can login with graphical login.

but game like Tuxracer or Chromium, whoaa...
only 1 frame per secon ?
1 fps ?


spec :
AMD 1700+ @ 2400Mhz
Chaintech 7VJL KT333
Sapphire radeon 9500 oced
corsair 2x 256mb 3200
seagate 40g - new installation REDHAT 9

but everything works fine with RH73

my last word : HELP

First of all the drivers are for the XFree86 you have
4.1.0, 4.2.0, 4.3.0
You can check this with Check.sh. If you have a problem with running this app in a console with ./Check.sh then edit the file and change the first line #!/bin/bash into #!/bin/sh
Then run the file again,
This should give you information about what driver you should use.

After the install and fglrxconfig.
Check your config file (/etc/X11/XFConfig-4, i thought) and make any changes you like (eg. mouse settings)
Then type modprobe fglrx
then startx
If successfull you can enter the modprobe command into /etc/rc.d/rc.modules

Then it should work after reboot.
