ati's latest fglrx driver fglrx_4_3_0-8.10.19-1 crashes
Hi,
does anyone have a solution? Since i changed my graphics card to a sapphire radeon 9200SE 128MB and since i changed to the latest fglrx driver in dual head mode, my mandrake 9.2 linux box crashes often. When i start fgl_glxgears then my primary screen gets random errors. The most time my box crashes when browsing with mozilla. When i restart my X, it consumes 100% CPU Time and blows my messages with: Mar 2 10:16:56 mymachine kernel: [fglrx:firegl_lock] *ERROR* Procsing kernel context 0x00000000 Mar 2 10:16:56 mymachine kernel: [fglrx:firegl_lock] *ERROR* Process 3235 is using kernel context 0x00000000 Mar 2 10:16:57 mymachine last message repeated 50 times i can kill that process and restart X remote. I thing fglrx is crap. Can someone guide me to another driver that can be configured to use the dual headed display? Thanks Flo |
Timing Problem?
It is probably a timing problem? Today i got these messages:
Mar 6 09:42:02 mymachine kernel: sing kernel context 0x00000000 Mar 6 09:42:02 mymachine kernel: [fglrx:firegl_lock] *ERROR* Process 1373 is using kernel context 0x00000000 Note that the Error string is crapled. It should read "Process xxxx is using kernel context" but it reads "sing kernel context". I think that fglrx driver has some major bugs. But i don't know how to contact Ati. |
