ATEN kvm problem
OK so I have been playing with Fedora and Centos linux for some time now and have a ATEN CS-1734a 4-port KVM. The problem which has recently developed is that my Fedora computer if it screen locks while connected to the KVM will not respond to any USB keyboard forcing a hard reset/reboot?
I have tried removing the USB connector from this machine and reconnecting but the operating system Fedora 29 does not respond nor does connecting a usb keyboard and mouse directly to the machine have it repond. This machine is a ASUS AMD motherboard M4A87TD the second machine is a HP Compaq 6000 Intel based computer running Centos 7 and here on boot the mouse sometimes is not seen without connecting and disconnecting the usb connection to the kvm switch. I had had this also with the Fedora system where periodically the mouse would not be recognised on boot but recover by unplugging usb and reconnecting it. Should also say that the KVM is flashed to the latest release from ATEN I have used their KVM products in day to day work situations and never had a problem with either digital or vga kvm devices from them.
I have no idea how to diagnose in the linux operating systems why the machine stops respong to USB kb devices when it goes to screen saver/lock mode while connected to KVM.
The other two conputers sharing the kvm are running windows and both of these show no problems using the kvm and respond transparently to keyboard and mouse when switched.
Thanks in advance
Robert
