ASUS WL-120G wireless card
Does anybody know how I can get an ASUS WL-120G wireless card working? The ndiswrapper tutorial says you require the .inf file from the driver CD, only porblem is that there is no .inf file on the cd. What should I do now? I'am currently running SuSE 10.1 Beta 5.
Im very new to Linux
Thank you

The .inf that ndiswrapper is looking for is for the Windows driver. It would be in the XP folder (or something similar). Alternatively, you could download the windows driver off the net. I found a copy at http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/..._2K_040408.zip. Do a google search for the driver.
Unfortunately, Broadcom has choosen to be very tight lipped on their driver support for Linux (or non-existant). The ndiswrapper works great, though. Not the best solution, but it does work. I have a linksys pcmcia card that works well this way, and I just installed the ndiswrapper method on a friend's Dell laptop.

Right, I have installed the ndiswrapper following every step in the manual, but the LED for the card still wont come on, and it has not been detected by YaSt. What is wrong with it now? Im now running SuSE Beta 8.

Not to sound bad or anything, but your distro may not work correctly "yet". I have been testing NLD 10 (OpenSuse's enterprise brother), and it has been up and down as far as stability goes. Latest build is good on some things, but audio took a step bacwards on one of my systems (hey, that's why they call it beta). Rest assured, they are starting to get close to RC freeze, which means stable release is coming soon.

Beta 9
The graphics card has stopped working now. Think the package manager is still faulty in beta 8. Should get my laptop back in a day or two's time. Just need to make the beta 9 ISO's and hope for the best. Hopefully they have fixed it by now.

Another thing to check, what does "lsmod" return? See if pcmcia and yenta_socket is installed. These two drivers are used to enable the pcmcia socket. If you type "lspci" you should see the wireless card. If not, I'd check to see if the pcmcia drivers are being loaded.
