Question asus P4P800

I need help!
I don't know wery well linux but I want to install a diastro an my new computer becouse I understood that windows is worse than linux.
I have had so many problem in windows that I decided to learn how to use linux but I could only use linux live diastros becouse I had many problem while I tryed to install it on my computer.

My configuration is:
- asus P4P800 MB
- 2 HDD that are configurated as RAID 0 (I use the integrated raid controller)
- pentium 4 Hyper-Treading
-integrated ethernet port ( 3com 3c940 )

What have I to do to install a linux diastro on my PC?

I have those diastros:
-mandrake 10
- rad hat (the last one)
- debian 3
- gentoo

But I think I'll install SUSE 9.1.
But I had problem with the FTP installer becouse I don't know how to load the karnel module of my integrated network card (3com 3c940)

Can anyone teach me how can I install a distro?
