Asus: P4C800 or P4C800-E deluxe, Sata RAID0 -- Compatibility

well i had a thought about getting 2raptor and put 'em on RAID0.So i read somewhere that with the Asus P4C800 mobo i cannot do that.On the other hand with the Asus P4C800-E mobo i read that I can do it with no problem..
Anyone tried sata raid0 with P4C800 or P4C800-E with the new kernel or know something to what i am asking???

If you set the motherboard to emulate SATA on either primary PATA or secondary PATA controller, you can probably get LINUX to work on it. If you do not want to emulate the SATA to be on the PATA controller than it may not work. The SATA controller on the motherboard is software dependable by the OS. You can try to send an e-mail to INTEL to make a linux module (driver) to get the SATA controller to work.

If you are putting LINUX on RAID 0. It doesn't help in performance. I suggest using RAID 1 because it will help in reading performance more than writing performance. RAID 0 is great for applications that needs very high throughput (MB/sec). These applications includes raw video, raw sound, raw pictures, tif, etc.
