Asus mobo ram slots

1 Attachment(s)
Hi folks,

Asus mobo M4A78T-E

I'm not very clear about DIMM slots.

I have 2 sets of A-DATA 2Gx2 DDR3 1333G dual channel ram sticks. Say set-A and set-B. Whether set-A ram sticks should be inserted on DIMM_A1(red slot) and DIMM_A2(black slot) and set-B on DIMM_B1(red slot) and DIMM_B2(black slot) (please see attached .pdf file) ?

TIA

If you have two ram sticks they should be installed in A1/B1 or A2/B2.
Not in A1/B2 for example.

Thanks for your advice.

If I understand your advice correctly.

Set-A ram sticks should be plugin on
A1 and A2

Or
B1 and B2

Set-B ram sticks should be plugin on
B1 and B2

Or
A1 and A2

To sum up,if you have 2 sticks they can go in either A1/B1 or A2/B2.
If you have 4 sticks that are identical then you would use all four DIMM slots on the motherboard.
Are you trying to use 2 or 4 sticks? and are they identical?.

Hi,

I have 4 sticks of same size.

Set-A DDR3 1333 2Gx2.
Set-B DDR3 1333 2Gx2.

same manufacturer.

Can they be plugin randomly. They were sold at set of 2, dual channel.

One stick per DIMM.So one dual channel is A1/B1 and the other is A2/B2.
As long as the sticks are identical i don't think it matters which DIMM they are located in.
