Asus A7v8x On board Lan Not Working.

My Broadcom 4401 lan adapter is not working with SuSe 8.1.

My configuration is:
Asus av78x
Amd 2200+
Broadcom on board lan 4401

I have try to install an other lan card (3 com) and this one don't work. Both cards say this message on boot: Ifup: Could not get valid interface name -> Skipped

I found drivers on the cd mother board. I can't build the rpm file because the command make is not working or is not on my system.

Is this an IRQ conflict?

Any help will be apreciated!

'lspci -vb' should give you some detailed information about your machine.

If you're just using rpm installs you shouldn't need to use make unless you're using source RPMs. If using SuSE 81 you can just use the yast2 tool to install the rpm. There's no gurantee that it's going to work (is there ever?) as I don't know what kernel/environment the RPMs were built for.

There's a link to the source code for that card somewhere in this thread:

Its not in-kernel yet, its a wonky one.
